### Customer-facing developer products

Add “ask this repository”, PR summaries, issue copilots, or codebase chat directly into your product experience.

### Internal engineering and support tools

Help engineering, support, QA, or ops teams get answers from private repositories without manually searching code and docs.

### Docs, onboarding, and automation

Power docs assistants, developer onboarding flows, CI helpers, or internal automation that needs repository context.

# GitLab Support

## GitLab support — Explore GitLab projects with ExplainGitHub

We’re expanding beyond GitHub. You can now explore GitLab repositories with the same repo‑aware answers and file citations you’re used to.

## What you can do

- Open a GitLab project and ask targeted questions
- Get answers with exact file paths and functions
- Review saved history to pick up right where you left off

## How to try it

1. Replace the domain with `explaingithub.com` on any GitLab project URL
2. Ask a focused question (e.g., “Trace MR creation → pipeline trigger → artifact upload”)
3. Click cited files to verify and continue

## Notes

- Public projects are supported today
- Private projects may require connecting your provider account

If you hit an edge case, ping us — we’re actively improving coverage.
